Italian coins have many symbols: dolphin, rudder, gear, plough, oak leaves, Piazza del Quirinale (a historic building in Rome) and other famous symbols: Minerva (the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare, and the sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy. Minerva is not a patron of violence such as Mars (mythology), but of defensive war only); Weighing scale (traditional symbols of justice, as wielded by statues of Lady Justice); Bee (a symbol of hard work, dedication, and eloquence); Olive Branch (traditionally has been recognized as a symbol for peace); Italia turrita (is the national personification or allegory of Italy, in the appearance of a young woman with her head surrounded by a mural crown completed by towers (hence turrita or "with towers" in Italian).
