Burmese Petrified Wood stone is the preserved imprint of ancient trees or terrestrial vegetation, where minerals have gradually taken the place of organic matter over millions of years. This natural process, occurring as the wood is enveloped by sediment, yields a stunning stone-like appearance. This stone will instantly transform your project into a realistic and natural scenery.
Versatile Use - Great for creating miniature rock formations in your aquarium, terrarium, vivarium, reptile or amphibian enclosure, adding to indoor or outdoor plants, giving wargaming miniatures a natural and realistic scenery, or anything else where natural rock is desired.
Size - 20 pounds contains 3-9" size stones, and is recommended for tanks up to 10-15 gallons depending on your desired look. A general guide for the required amount for an aquarium is 2 x Tank volume in gallons = Total amount of pounds needed. Increase weight ordered for larger tanks or for a fuller appearance.
Natural Stone - You will receive stones similar to the image shown, however each piece will differ slightly due to natural rock varying in shape and size. Can be glued together to create cliffs, benches, walkways, or used as miniature boulders.
Safe for Aquariums - Inert and won't change water parameters, but stones require a thorough rinsing prior to use.
Burmese petrified wood is the fossilized remains of trees or other terrestrial vegetation where the organic materials have been replaced with minerals. After millions of years of petrification where the wood has been buried by sediment, the result is a beautiful looking stone. This petrified wood comes from the dense forests of Myanmar, where it is commonly used for carving ornamental gems and statues. We found a better use for this beautiful material; submerged in a rimless tank with live plants all around it.
