The forward 5B model features an Acorn tip and a short, 2 1/4" Taper for power and speed. Cut in shira kashi Oak, this version adds increased articulation, weight and durability compared with the standard hickory model. In 1957, Promark was the first American drumstick manufacturer to market with a sustainable Japanese Oak drumstick. For the last six decades, drummers have enjoyed our assortment of shira kashi Oak classic drumstick models for their weight, articulation and durability characteristics. With the addition of our select balance system, drummers now have the choice of forward or rebound balance on our three most popular drumstick sizes in oak, giving them the ability to choose the optimal stick for any playing situation.
