5-inch Backset Hardware: Back in the 1950s and 1960s, 5" backset door hardware was pretty common, but today, almost everything uses the standard 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backset. If you've been driving yourself crazy trying to find a latch with a 5" backset, you've come to the right place!
7.6mm Square Opening: If you are looking for a 5" backset entry latch, you'll amazingly find ours with a 19/64" square opening instead of a half-moon hole like others, which means it will accept the square interface of most knobset and 90° leverset manufacturers.
Standard Door Preparation: Requires a dia. 2-1/8" cross bore hole on the face of the door and a dia. 1" edge bore hole on the edge of the door. Depending on door and handleset, you may have to do some modification of the door to make it fit.
Saves Your Mid-Century Front Doors: Ancient mid-century handleset and deadbolt mostly have been old or damaged, it would've cost thousands of dollars to replace the door. Now with these 5" backset latches, you can keep your antique door and even make it possible to update with modern styles of handleset.
Before Purchase: Finished to match standard satin nickel knobset and 90° leverset, if you want to have it work with lever handles, please make sure the lever must be 90° rotatable instead of 45° on the most of market, or else the latch tab may not fully retractable.
