Vegetable seeds for planting or sprouting. 8-12 days microgreens. Red Garnet Amaranth is a high-protein microgreen with stunning red and magenta tones. This heirloom variety can be used in salads or many oriental dishes. Red Garnet Amaranth is a very small, delicate microgreen that prefers warmer growing conditions. Find a nice warm spot for germination and growing. It can also be sensitive to too much direct light. Red Garnet Amaranth does not grow tall, so expect very small greens that will need to be harvested close to the root line and rinsed well. These microgreens seeds do well grown hydroponically or in soil, but soil is a little more forgiving. Germination Temperature: 70-80°F. Seed Depth: On the surface, lightly cover. Sowing Indoors Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-80°F soil temperature. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot. Thin to the strongest seedling. Transplant after last frost, 6-12" apart. Sowing Outdoors: After the last frost when the soil temperature reaches 70°F. Sow a few seeds every 3-6", thin to 6-12" apart. Harvest: Start picking young leaves when plants are 12" tall.
