About Akai Katana Shin - Nintendo Switch
Experience sensory overload with CAVE's addition to the shmup arena—Akai Katana. Enter an epic tale set in the Taisho era with three titles from CAVE's Akai Katana series that has captured the hearts of passionate shoot 'em-up fans. The people have discovered the powerful Blood Swords that require human sacrifices to unleash their immense destructive power. The empire used these swords to crush neighboring countries. Katana is the second CAVE release to feature horizontal combat in sumptuous HD. Prepare for a new definition of “bullet hell!” Originally released in arcades in 2010, Akai Katana is a side-scrolling shooter that was later ported to more advanced hardware under the name of "Akai Katana Shin." With the additional 16:9 screen ratio, the game became even more intuitive. CAVE released a third edition, "Zetsu Akai Katana,” and revised the quality of life and game balance. Each game requires different tactics so prepare yourself. New features include musical arrangements by Daisuke Matsumoto, an online leaderboard and much more.
