Installation Instructions: Transparent Back Plate for Steam Deck 1. Check Back Plate Accessories Accessories included: Steam Deck back plate *1; Thermal pad *1; Replaceable buttons *8; Screwdriver *1; Set of A screws *1; Set of B screws *1; Set of C screws *1; Pry tool *1; Finger cots *10. Note: Wear all finger cots before installation to protect internal components of the Steam Deck. 2.Remove Original Back Plate Screws Note: Professional assistance is recommended for disassembly. Apply appropriate force during disassembly and assembly. If screws are difficult to turn, consider using a different screwdriver. If screws start to strip, cease disassembly and seek professional help. 3.Use the Pry Tool Insert the pry tool at the top of the original back plate and gently slide it towards the other end to open the back plate. Note: Avoid touching internal components after removing the back plate. Keep original parts and screws safe. Install Replaceable Buttons 4.Choose the desired buttons and place them in their corresponding slots. Tighten screws to secure buttons. Note: After installing buttons, check if there is even spacing between buttons and back plate. Ensure buttons can be pressed and bounce back properly. If buttons feel stuck, loosen screws slightly, adjust the button, and then retighten screws. 5.Apply Thermal Pad Peel off the double-sided adhesive on the thermal pad and place it inside the back plate. Attach the silicone thermal compound onto the thermal pad. (You may skip this step if not using a heat sink.) Note: If the thermal compound is not applied, do not attach a heat sink to avoid condensation inside the device due to temperature differences. Any damage caused by improper use is the user's responsibility.
