This item is the 3 3/4" model of the Drotto Boat Latch found on Boat2Trailer.com. This Zinc coated model is designed to replace a 3 1/2″ – 4″ inch space between the 2 brackets the bow roller or rubber V mounts in. Also please note there must be some sort of V in the front of the boat for it to rest properly. Flat fronts are not compatible. If you measures 4" just add spacers or washers for a snug fit. Please measure the inside space between your existing bow roller bracket mount on your trailer and make sure it is 3 1/2 inches wide or larger. If the specs are 3 inches – 3 3/8″ wide please refer to the 3 inch boat latch. The latch is constructed of a very heavy gauge steel and weigh’s in at 14lbs. It’s sturdy. When loading a boat you simply drive the boat onto the trailer, when the eye of the boat comes in contact with the latch, it automatically snaps shut and secures the boat to the trailer. Once secured you may drive to the waters edge and secure your boat with your straps and chains for travel. To release simply reverse the process. When you are ready to release the boat, simply pull the handle.
