Violet Evergarden is a Japanese light novel which won the grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award`s novel category in 2014. The story revolves around Violet's journey of reintegrating back into the society after the war and her search for her life's purpose in order to understand the last words that an important person in her life had told her. This book contains introduction to the story and characters, interviews with the main staff and artist involved, as well as production episodes of the opening theme song. It also includes background information on the places adapted into the animation. Original drawings of famous scenes are featured as well.
