Randolph Carter is faced to you in your office: "We investigated the creeping death that haunted the locals - poor settlers whose ancestors came as colonists from the Netherlands and claim that country. Typer has put me on this case and now every trace of him is missing... Well yes, the thing has got a little out of control. Could you possibly complete this case for me?" You have to think of your overdue rent and go sighingly on his offer, driving in the catskills and poking around a little. "Take an umbrella with you", he advise you. "There it storms frequently." Arkham Noir is a solo game inspired by the cohesive stories of H. P. Lovecraft and other authors and redesigned as a Noir story. Each case can be played independently. In "Launched From Thunder", Howard Lovecraft examines events based on the stories "The Lauring Fear" (1923) and "The Alonzo Typer" (1938). In the game, your clue cards are placed on open cases and creates rows of investigations to eventually clarify the cases. The aim is to collect 5 "puzzle" cards to see the overall picture before time runs out or becomes insane. Each new game is the beginning of a unique challenge whose difficulty can be customized.
