512 Hz Sonde
Used with Pipe & Cable Locator to trace, detect buried plastic pipes
Max Soil Depth: 14 - 16' below the surface of the ground (soil type dependent)
Uses 1 AA Battery
512 Hz Sonde, aka Beacon or Mole. Size: 4-1/8″ long x 1-1/2″ dia.; Battery: 1 – AA; Depth: 16 feet deep (soil type dependent); 512 Hz sondes work with any Schonstedt pipe & cable locator model. Sondes benefit a variety of industry applications. In the water & sewer industry, they can help pin-point blockages or pipeline defects when used with video inspection systems. You can trace a path and determine the depth of a non-metal pipe such as HDPE, PVC, transcite or clay tile. In cable applications, they can be used to trace empty fiber-duct or adjacent conduit runs, and stop at unmarked underground vaults or splice boxes. The depth accuracy of a sonde’s position can help reduce excavation costs and time. Depending on frequency and soil type, a self-contained battery powered sonde can be detected as deep as 16'.
