MFM SubSeal60 Waterproof House Wrap 60 mil is a self-adhering, waterproofing membrane comprised of a rubberized asphalt adhesive laminated to a multi-layer of puncture-resistant, reinforced polyethylene. This self-adhering membrane underlayment combines strength and flexibility to create an ideal sealing foundation and a moisture barrier for walls, exterior walls, through-wall flashings, around doors and windows, underneath stucco, plaster and masonry, planters, pot shelves, and as a flashing material. SubSeal is also ideal for waterproofing and protecting ICF foundations and can be utilized as a pipe wrap or protective covering for rigid insulation. It is not recommended to use SubSeal as a roofing underlayment, because it can be hazardous working on a roof due to the slippery nature of the SubSeal. This membrane can adhere to most clean, dry surfaces such as metal, wood, rigid vinyl, masonry, poured concrete, concrete block, wallboard/mortarboard, foam insulation board, and other building materials such as a house wrap. however, if concrete, OSB, masonry, Densdeck, and Fiberock are used, then the surface must first be dry, fully cured, and primed with an asphalt-based primer before applying the SubSeal. It is easy to cut Subseal to shape using scissors or a sharp knife if an alteration in the size of the membrane is needed. For the best adhesion, SubSeal can be applied by rolling the entire surface with a hand roller while focusing attention, particularly on seams. This particular membrane must be covered within 90 days of application. MFM backs SubSeal 60 with a 10-year limited warranty.
