The standard folding knife that’s anything but. The Provoke® EDC takes the powerful Kinematic™ technology from the original Provoke® karambit and applies it to a “standard” folding knife that’s flexible in more ways than one. For anyone who lusted after Kinematic™ opening but didn’t need a karambit, now you can get the same innovative tech in a knife designed for everyday carry. The Provoke® EDC features a new plain-edge blade made from D2 steel for excellent edge retention and a lightweight aluminum handle that allows it to ride comfortably in a pocket. We think of designer Joe Caswell as somewhat of a mad scientist. When we got an eyeful of the sketches that were to become the original Provoke®, we knew he was destined to become one of the most innovative designers the knife world has ever seen. The Provoke® EDC continues the trend, and inherits the original’s nearly flush pocket clip that’s activated with a light press of the thumb. The Kinematic™ opening mechanism has pulled the folder into the future—whether it’s ready or not. Thumb pressure on the upper crossbar sets the chain reaction in motion, causing the blade to lunge open while you’ve got a firm grasp on the handle. It’s crafted of aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum for supreme toughness. Although it looks complex, this system is easy to use, fast, and safe.
