The advantage of using aluminum on your front end, is that if you hit something with your vehicle the aluminum tie rod will bend before your arms, spindles, or other expensive front end components. The aluminum tie rod would be your "weak point" and tie rods are much cheaper than replacing arms, spindles, or other front end components.
