This never-before-released gem captures the legendary Jack Teagarden and his sextet circa 1958. The sound is marvelous - lovingly restored, then beautifully mastered, and featuring liner notes and rare photos. Teagarden and his sextet were invited to play at the First Annual Vancouver International Festival. The festival, developed to celebrate the arts, offered a wide range of music and stage and screen events during the period July 19 through August 16, 1958. Jazz artists such as Jack Teagarden and Oscar Peterson played alternating festival concerts with such other notables as Glenn Gould, the Vancouver Festival Orchestra, and the Bach Choir from the fields of classical music.
