Cat’s view of herself in relation to the world and its creatures, is one of many years of searching, and finally finding… self peace. Author's Excerpt “When I first began to write, my hand flowed with the strokes of someone who writes to see herself write. My art flowed quickly, but somethings was lost in translation. But the words loved the page! I needed you to hear them, but my trust was my own. Even if I knew where to send them, they might be lost along the way, or worse yet- misunderstood. Or even worse…forgotten. I couldn’t take that chance. So, like my art, I tucked them in drawers, shoved them aside, wrapped, boxed, and taped them away, inside the darkness of fear. And so, I was lost, forgotten, boxed away. In the darkness, I stumbled across my own self, my own words, my own lines inside that taped box. One after another, until I was revealed; undressed to the light, naked and fearful. But soon, like a tree in a storm, I turned my leaves and caught the rain! Each drop, another truth; each lie melted at my feet, and I grew! I grew up, I grew out, I grew wings!
