About Product Owner/Product Manager SAFe® POPM Exam
I am a big follower of the SAFe agile way of implementing solutions. I am not sure how else you can work on complex multi-team agile solutions. Any decent size feature will require work from multiple teams. There are always dependencies across teams that need to be managed. In the absence of Cadence based style or synchronicity along with Lean portfolio management (LPM) which is what SAFe provides how else you can deliver value in a predictable manner and with quality. I have been helping my colleagues in their POPM journey by clarifying their doubts. They encouraged me to share my knowledge in this area with a broader audience. This led to the creation of this book. The book provides detailed information about how to achieve POPM certification. We need to understand that SAFe has a very good mechanism of training students before taking the exams, so no additional training or resource should be required. However, in case you need a brush up just before the exam OR you are contemplating preparing for the SAFe certification, this book provides relevant information about the same. This can also be used by a Product owner or business analyst planning to appear for an interview and would like to refresh his concepts. Please note that this book assumes that you have a working experience with the Agile way of working and have some business understanding with regards to how enterprises work and deliver value via features or work requests. There are some intertwined concepts, e.g team level retro action items are added to Team's backlog, however, what is retro is covered later in the book, so it will be helpful if the book is read end to end first and that will help resolve any doubts you may have in the beginning.
