About Slurp Sends!: A Green Beret's Vietnam Experiences

This book describes what life was like as a United States Army Special Forces “Green Beret” deployed to the war zone of Vietnam on A-teams in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam on, or near, the Cambodia border, during 1966-67.The fourth of a series of four books that describe Dick’s experiences as a “Green Beret,” almost all of book #4, “A Green Beret’s Experiences in Vietnam Book 4,” describes to the readers what many, if not most, Special Forces men on A-teams in Vietnam endured during the Vietnam War. Aiding in Dick’s recollections of his past come mostly from the countless letters home, which were saved by his mother, and are now his, as well as saved letters to a good “Green Beret” friend whom he corresponded with who, in fact, named his first son after Dick. He also still has more than two hundred photographs he took along his journey, as well as about two hundred donated to his collection by one of his teammates and some friends. Added to that is more than a hundred binders of research materials to support his historical memories.“One Green Beret’s extraordinary odyssey in the Vietnam War comes complete with extensive details that even Special Forces historical buffs can learn from. Read it.” —John B. Alexander, Ph.D., U.S. Army (reired) Team Leader, A-421, Ba Xoai Jan-Dec 1968
