About 100 Phonetics Crosswords: High-Frequency Words Used
Now you can improve your speaking skills while having fun. In this book, you will find a collection of 100 phonetics crosswords. The crosswords contain high-frequency words used in conversations. Under each crossword are the phonetic transcription of six words. We provide the transcriptions in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Your task is to write the words corresponding to each transcription in the crossword. This exercise will help you get familiar with the right pronunciation of the words. So you can later put into practice this knowledge when you are having a conversation in English. The solutions are near the end of the book. Also, there is a brief introduction to the IPA sounds in the Appendix. It describes how to move the mouth, tongue, jaw, teeth, and vocal chords as Americans do when they speak.
