This book is a National Treasure." - BookIdeas " My hat is off to Cathy Travis for undertaking this work so that the young ones in the United States would have a guide to the most important document in our government, the basic law of our land." - BookPleasures "I give this work my highest recommendation. Exceptional and beyond excellent." - Shirley Johnson, Senior Reviewer, MidWest Book Review, 2006 "Constitution Translated for Kids should be required reading for the September 11 generation." - Momentum (National Catholic Education Association) "If you are tasked with teaching the Constitution, this book could be invaluable. Most of us think we understand what each section means, but this book helps you KNOW what each section means." - Books Kids Love, theBestChildrensBooks.org From the Author It would make me crazy, hearing people misstate, and even mislead others about, what is in the United States Constitution. Being the supreme law of the land, it's important to understand it. But nobody trusts sources anymore. We've been manipulated and led around for so long, I get that. So I ran every single word of the Constitution down one side of the page, and right beside it, translated the fancy words into a simple, 5th grade version of what it all means. It was important to me for every single word of the Constitution to be there, so anybody reading this can look at the original source and decide for themselves what it says. Since Constitution Translation for Kids was first released in 2006, hundreds of school districts - and many nonprofits dedicated to teaching civics - have adopted it as teaching material. Never let somebody else tell you what is in the Constitution, now you can see for yourself.
