As Soraya and her best friends embraced each other in a group hug, the 2004 New Year’s Fleur de Lis fell through the air. Pop, crack, clash, roar! Each of the besties made a wish, and collectively had a grand unifying vision for the new year. The girls promised to stick together throughout middle school, and of course have each other's backs in every situation from cat fights to first dances! Fast forward a few weeks, and fate would begin to reveal itself. There was suddenly the real possibility their New Year’s pact wouldn’t come to fruition. However change was simply inevitable, and a life altering decision was imminent. Despite Soraya’s lacking confidence, her intuition challenged her own self doubts. Suddenly she could no longer silence the voice in her head, that begged her to stick with the familiar. The time was now to learn to dance a new dance. Illustrating the intricacies of instrumental nuance; Soraya and Sehrish danced together in raw, real synchronization. Just like every other pre-teen, Soraya was learning to improvise playfully and find her unique voice within the dance we call life. Leaving her comfort zone would be the greatest decision she ever made!
