About Miyamoto Musashi : Two Swords: An Illustrated Tale

A popular story about Miyamoto Musashi that was widely read in the Edo Era. Due to strict regulations the writer had to alter the names and the timeline of the famous events in Musashi's famous life. Over the course of the story Musashi has to fight many battles against Samurai, Ronin and supernatural creatures. Originally published in ten separate volumes, this is the first two volumes. Volumes 1 and 2 introduce Sasaki Kojiro, also known as Ganryu. Through a chance encounter Ganryu and Musashi's father have to duel, leading to a series of events that will change Musashi's life. Many of the famous paintings of Miyamoto Musashi battling supernatural creatures originate from this book. First time in translation.
