About Class Of '55: Memphis Rock & Roll Homecoming

This is a fantastic album featuring Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis. Recorded in Memphis at Sun Recording Studio and American Studio. Produced by the legendary Chips Moman and musicians on the album include: Gene Chrisman, W.S. Holland, Buddy Harmon, Mike Leech, Bob Moore, Bobby Emmons, Bobby Wood, Reggie Yound, Jack Clement, Marty Stuart, Bob Wooten, Kenneth Lovelace, J.R. Cobb, Memphis Strings. Thes four men who all came from different areas of the country following in the footsteps of Elvis. Some thirty years after each had recorded at Sun for Sam Phillips and moved on they came back to their studio to make music together. The song Big Train was written by John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater fame. Fogerty was asked to help with this project and on that recording there were others who came to be a part of this piece of Memphis and Music history:June Carter Cash, The Judds, Rick Nelson, John Fogerty, Jack Clement, Dave Edmunds, Rebecca Evans, Toni Wine, Sam Phillips and Marty Stuart.
