About Marschmusik: Unter Der Reichskriegsflagge

Product Description This 2015 compilation features twenty-two German military marches performed by leading German military bands (under the direction of some of the era's foremost conductors) between 1932 and 1943. Included are many musical rarities, including a host of traditional selections not usually found in compilations of material from this period. Performers include the Band of the Regiment 'General Göring,' the Music Corps of the German Commandant of Paris, the Band of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at Döberitz and many others. Exhaustively remastered with state of the art restorations, the CD is accompanied by one of Brandenburg Historica's trademark illustrated insert booklets with 24 pages of notes on the featured musical selections. Instrumental performances only. Review [An] especially meticulous restoration... [of] exemplary recordings. [This version] of the Panzer-Reiter-Marsch by Hermann Schmidt is a jewel that is yet to be surpassed... In its musical arrangement, its accompanying booklet's text and its instructive technical reconstruction, [this CD] is a small jewel. --Mit klingendem Spiel: Zeitschrift der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Militärmusik, Vol. 38, No. 3 / 4, 2015 Surpasses all others in its quality... It is without hesitation that I recommend this CD (with a total playing time of about an hour) to my readers. --Defilé: Tijdschrift d. International Military Music Society /Netherlands, Vol. 35, No. 140, Juni 2016 The recording is amazing. It sounds like it was done this year, not so many years ago! --A Brandenburg Historica Customer
