About Vintage Hawaiian Music: Steel Guitar
Here are classic recordings of the best-known sound in Hawaiian music. The Hawaiian guitar was probably invented in the 1880s by a young student, and by the early 1900s more Hawaiian records, all featuring the steel guitar, were being sold in the U.S. than any other type of music. This collection was compiled and annotated by Bob Brozman and features King Benny Nawahi, Tau Moe, Kanui & Lula, Jim & Bob (the Genial Hawaiians) and many others.
