Amazon.com Brian Setzer's career hit commercial heights as a vehicle for two potent blasts from the past, first when he was frontman for rockabilly revivalists Stray Cats, then when he led his nouveau-swing band, the Brian Setzer Orchestra. But during the 1980s, Setzer released a pair of underappreciated solo albums that were occasionally infused with as much English Invasion and Byrds guitar jangle as they were with Setzer's beloved roots-rock sensibilities. The results weren't so different from what Chris Isaak would achieve slightly thereafter (if a good deal less slavish to their various musical forebears).
