Precise Bit Geometry – The bit tip is machined to precise tolerances
Optimal Two-Piece Design – We use separate steel alloys and processes for the bit and socket, resulting in a higher performing tool than one-piece designs
Permanent Connection – The bit is pressed directly into the socket for a permanent connection that won't loosen over time or under stress
Two Size Markings – The size is marked with a high-visibility laser marking and a permanent stamped marking that won't rub off
Friction Ring or Detent Pin Anvils – Smooth walls inside the drive end and a detent pin hole make the bit sockets compatible with both drive tool anvil types
Carrying Case – Made from a high-density polyethylene material and withstands exposure to common lubricants, fuels, and solvents
Tekton's two-piece design allows us to optimize the steel alloys, heat treatments, and forming processes for the bit and socket separately, resulting in a tool that's higher performing and more durable than traditional one-piece impact bit sockets. The two pieces are permanently press-fit together and won't loosen over time. The socket is made is made from 6140 chromium-vanadium steel that's heat-treated to 40–47 HRC for use on impact wrenches. The socket is also coated with a manganese phosphate finish to resist corrosion. The bits are made from S2 steel that's heat-treated to a higher hardness (58–62 HRC) to help maintain their geometry under stress. The inside of the socket's drive end has smooth walls with no detent grooves to support engagement with drive tools that use friction ring anvils. A detent pin hole on one side of the drive end also supports engagement with detent pin anvil styles.
