Wilson's iconic Blade series updates version 8 for 2021 Blade 98 (16x19) v8 combines captivating design with a new layout to better fit the more modern vertical swing path commonly used by competitive players. Wilson's all-new 8 version of the Fortyfive blade manages to increase both frame flexibility and stability to give the ball supreme feel with every shot. Always characterized by its superior presence in the hands of the world's best players, this evolution of Blade rewards aggressive and precise ball attacks with a premium blend of ball connection feel, twist stability and color-changing design to impress teammates and opponents. Another great update to the Blade v8 includes DirectConnect in which Wilson extends the carbon fiber handle to connect directly to the cap for better feel and stability when torsioning. Wilson also includes a "Top Grip Taper" which provides a better feel for the placement of the handle on top. Wilson continues the use of a graphite + basalt braided composition that improves the flexibility of the racket to produce an enhanced feel and control. Parallel drilling provides a consistent and more tolerant response. Ergonomic cap helps improve comfort and playability. Overall, the Blade 98 (16x19) v8 features a 100 square inch head, with a comfortable weight of 11.2 oz to go with a more open string pattern of 16 x 19 inches, adding to this traditional racket tailored to that advanced player who places a top of the line on control and feel.
