The Talos SFD-1000-P Storm Front and Lightning Detector detects lightning strikes up 25 miles. PMT developed the lightning detector to detect lightning and provide situational awareness of approaching storms. The SFD-1000-P is a general use portable lightning detector that includes an easy to install mountable base. Once the base is installed, you can easily detach the device from the base for portable on the go use. The device can be used in numerous applications that include pools and outdoor spas. You can also take it with you for picnics, camping, walking, hiking or while spending the day at the beach. Thunder can be heard from 10 miles away, but lightning can strike from 25 miles away. The SFD-1000-P can distinguish between a false disturbance and actual lightning.
