The hakama is a trouser like garment that was introduced to the Japanese culture in the beginning of the sixth century. The hakama used to be mandatory for men’s clothing, but is now more commonly used for formal events, such as tea ceremonies, and also used to practice a variety of sports, from kendo, iaido, aikido and many other sports.
