About BasicGear Professional Seine Net 4' X 10' | Ultra

A seine net is a type of fishing net that is often used to capture large amounts of fish at once. It consists of two long parallel lines connected together by shorter crosslines called 'seines.' At one end of each main line there is a buoy, while weights keep the bottom edges of the nets on the ocean floor. Seine nets are typically deployed perpendicular to shore and then pulled slowly through the water using boats or manual labor, enclosing schools of fish within the net as they move. Once the net reaches the shore, it's lifted up and the captured fish removed, allowing the process to continue until all desired areas have been fished. They're commonly used for commercial operations, but recreational anglers may also use smaller ones to increase their chances of catching fish.
