About HeadHunter Predator Pole Spear

The Predator pole spear is a revolutionary new type of polespear. It combines innovative designs with high quality materials to create a plespear like no other. This 2 piece spear has a strong back-half made of composite that is more durable and resilient than aluminum while also reducing weight. The front section is made of stiff carbon fiber and uses 316 stainless connections to attach to the back section. ,,The Predator is designed to be used with our Showstopper slip tip system. This tip system is unlike any other on the market. It is made up of 2 main compenents: the injector rod and the slip tip.,,The injector rod is Is made of 5/16 inch diameter 17-4 stainless. It threads into the the polespear using a 6mm thread and an optional set screw. We developed the set screw to keep the injector rod from backing out and causing the rod to wobble while you swim around. The rods are changed by simply backing the set screw out two turns and then unscrewing the injector rod out of the spear. The set screw uses a standard surf board fin key or 3/32" allen key. ,,The slip tip is also unique in its design. Made of solid machined 17-4 stainless steel, it has an extremely sharp point and a very think front half. This this diameter slowly swells into a slightly larger diameter main section. The bard is very pronounced and this dramatic barb makes sure the tip stays inside the fish and holds well. The tip sits loosly on the injector rod allowing for easy deployment into the fish. Even is there is sand, slime or scales stuck inside the tip, it will not get jamed onto the injector rod. ,,The final portion of the Showstopper slip tip is our unique retention system. We have developed an elestic band system that allows there to be a constant amount of slight positive tension on the tip, keeping it mounted on the spear until it is engages in a fish. This elastic "Positive Retetion System" (P.R.S.) works incredibly well.
