What is the difference between Olympic plates and bumper plates? Olympic weight plates and bumper plates are similar. The main difference is bumper plates can be dropped. Build your own Olympic weight set by purchasing weight plates in pairs. Also offered are Olympic weight sets that include 2.5lb, 5lb. 10lb, 25lb, 35lb and 45lb pairs.
