This is an excellent handlebar for cycling. The front handlebar keeps your handlebar wraps away from the cables so that my shifting and braking performance remains consistent when camping with or without a load. The handlebar width is suitable for riding between trees on local single track roads, with plenty of room between the grip and levers for comfort. Of course cloth straps are recommended on the front bar to keep hands from getting cold and to withstand scrapes against rocks and trees. This in itself is also a function of the front rack. You can use an elasticated cargo net made specifically for the bike rack to hold your lunch, mackintosh, parcels, tools for easy access. The multiple handhold positions allow you to adjust your riding position for more varied road conditions.
