A real functional size, great for skinning, gutting, bushcraft and hunting purposes. Knives Damascus Hunting/utility knife is handcrafted to be functional and not just for looks. Utility Knife has over 18 hrs of work into it including forging, filing, fitting, grinding, polishing. Hilt gives a great grip to it which feels natural when held in the hand. Little file work on the backside of the blade along with the indent helps with preventing hands to slip off the blade. The knife is weighted to have a balance point just above the bolster, to better help in hunting Jobs. The remarkable workmanship on this knife! Damascus steel hand forged with combinations of 1095 and 15N20 high and low carbon steel forming over 250+ layers. We oil quench and temper to a hardness of 54-56 Rockwell C. Some of the many Damascus steel advantages include the following: Blade edge resistance from the harder steel, micro serrations from the alternating layers, ductility from the HT 4340 layer... Blade size: 4 inch Grip Size: 4-inch Handle material: Dyed Camel Bone Recommended Knife Maintenance: Sharpening: Can be performed with any system, recommend the use of oil on 22.5deg fixtures Surface treatment: Recommend that the knife is not kept in the sheath and in a dry environment. In case rust develops, remove with steel wool or 3M 1000 grit pads with oil and use metal polish to prevent from reoccurring.
