In addition to its razor-sharp blade, the LMF II features a unique, pointed buttcap made of stainless steel. This heavy-duty end can be used to pierce glass for vehicle egress or as a hammer for various tasks. The buttcap's smart design physically separates it from the tang, offering shock absorption and preventing electrical shock, enhancing its utility in survival situations. Smartly situated grooves and lashing holes let the LMF II convert to a spear. The low-profile sheath facilitates movement, limits noise, works for parachuting, and attaches to a belt or Molle vest. The patented, integrated sharpener means edge retention in the field.
