This kind of blade is very useful for light work, now day British Army also use similar this kind of light blade for jungle training. This blade can be used to chop wood cleaning bushes and do other kinds of domestic and jungle work. The notch (Kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as the conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.
