8” Blade Kukri, Gorkha Iraqi Operation Gripper Features

  • Exquisite fusion of traditional and contemporary model – Known for tremendous chopping and slicing weapon, this particular model is an Iraq Issue for the British Gorka Soldiers serving in Iraq Freedom Operation. The 8” blade is quite traditional with recurve blade and OM shaped notch at the neck. The real eye catcher is the handle with one arm Quillon at the bolster and a wave patterned 3 grip handle with a flared pommel similar to the older version and butt cover to enclose the full tang.

  • Ergonomic and Safe Design – The finely forged blade is wide and forward bent reducing the wrist movement for injuries. The spine is flat and hefty providing a good support for the thumb producing immense force for a deeper cut. A ripple design 5” handle fits seamlessly between index and rest of the fingers with a one armed quillon at the bolster that prevents hand from slipping forward to avoid hand cuts. Notch at the neck prevents blood from dripping.

  • Durability that Last for Decades – The hand hammered 8 -inch blade reflects the craftsmanship’s skill. Beautiful double fuller curve runs consistently from tip to the bolster making it look stunning. Forged from High Grade Carbon Spring Steel, the blade is full flat tang all the way to pommel with lanyard hole punched in the handle for wrist loop. The handle is topped and glued at bolster with dual rivets for strength and durability.

  • A Powerful Utilitarian Khukri – A lethal weapon that damages deep. You can use this heavy duty kukri for building, chopping woods, cutting meat and vegetables, digging, clearing shrubs, skinning or slaughtering animals, opening cans or any outdoor activities. A beautiful design that can be displayed as a décor item in your room, office or living room. A precious gift idea that will surely be cherished and remembered.

  • Classic Scabbard with 2 utility knives – The scabbard made of cotton wood looks fantastic wrapped in Off White Leather Sheath and Frog. Compliments the light brown handle. It has a loop tip for hanging. The frog is detachable with a wide belt loop and button closure. The off white lace-up in front can be adjusted. The 2 utility knives “Karda” (utility for cutting) and “Chakmak” (sharpener and flint) completes this beauty.

  • Care Instructions Apply lubricants on the blade once a month or after every use to and avoid rust. It is important to remove any moist, water or fingerprints on the blades. Always polish the leather scabbard with matching shoe polish to retain the original color and texture. Clean the handles with furniture wax. If the khukri is to be kept out of action, always oil the blades heavily and wrap it in plastic. Store the kukri in dry normal temperature.

About 8” Blade Kukri, Gorkha Iraqi Operation Gripper

Brief History Featuring a legendary Gorkhas Regiment Iraq Operation Khukuri that made history and continues to baffle enemies by its sheer name. Synonymously used with the brave Gorka Soldier, this piece of weapon invigorates power and prodigy. A symbolic representation of culture, tradition and bravery that you can now own and cherish. The design replicates its predecessors and is considered most demanding due to its traditional shape that was used during World War II. The distinct curve in the blade is what distinguishes a Khukri from other knives. Even today making Khukuri is a traditional craft passed through generations. While gorkha soldiers still use these blades as weapons in Nepal’s countryside you'll find people using Kukri’s for a variety of chores from chopping, cutting, slicing, whacking etc. The kukri remains Nepal’s favorite weapon and its effectiveness in combat matches no other due to its sheer power and cutting technology.
