The sheath is made out of white water buffalo leather covered in soft wood. It is made of Highly Graded Carbon Steel (car, bus or truck spring) which is very sharp or easy to sharp. The handle is very strong and different in comparison to other kukuri or knife. Some English speakers refer to this knife as a blade or knife. This kukuri is used by the Nepalese army, the Royal British regiment of British Army, regiments of the Indian army, Singapore police and Royal Brunei Guard. Its use is varied from chopping firewood, bushes, digging, slaughtering animals for food, cutting meat and vegetables, skinning animals, general farm and household tool. There are two tiny knives tucked behind it. One is Chakmak and another is Karda. Chakmak is a sharpener tucked behind the scabbard. It can be used as a flint maker also. Karda is a small knife tucked behind the scabbard, its main purpose is to cut small things and also work as a skinning knife. Notice about Kukuri Maintenance: After every use, clean it by using petrol/gasoline with soft clothes. After cleaning, apply machine oil on the blade. It’s suggested that you don’t leave any fingerprint on the blade. If it’s necessary to touch on the blade, you should clean it by using petrol/gasoline or oil and simply wipe with clean soft clothes. You should use shoe polish for the leather sheaths occasionally.
