In this way the listener will be able to retrace the striking path Beethoven walked, from the juvenile exercises to the wonderful sketches of the 1790s; and then from 1804 on, the short compositions freezing prophetic insights that the author felt himself unable to embody into the compact struc- tures of his Sonatas; never-heard of, visionary attempts, according to a modus operandi that in the end will underpin the late Quartets - or the almost con- temporary Bagatelles Op. 126.
