If you are searching for a Heavy-Duty marine thread to use on your home sewing machine, then you’re in luck! We recommend using Serabond Tex 90 V92 thread. Using this thread will increase the life span of your thread from 1-2 years up to 2-3 years. If you currently use V69 thread, take the step up to V92 and you won’t regret it. Most home sewing machines are able to handle this thread. Avoid nylon thread at all cost. It doesn’t even stand a chance in the sun and will not last. Even the 138 polyester thread used by the pros can rot in the sun within 3-5 years depending on environment. Sun is brutal on thread, so choose wisely and avoid costly replacement. Remember, Amann Serabond Tex 90 V92 for your home sewing machine usage. If you happen to be sewing with an industrial machine, then go with V138 Polyester or Lifetime Thread such as Tenara or Solarfix. 8 oz spool contains 2500 yards of thread.
