Product Description Wanda Stairs Howard was many things to many people, but first and foremost, she was a mother, grandmother, and wife. Her daughter Lorna’s book is an account of how Wanda took what was left of her life and squeezed it until the pips squeaked, how she and her tireless Team Wanda celebrated her life whilst she was still living it, and how eventually they set her free for the ultimate journey. This book was written because so many people responded so strongly to her story as it played out through the medium of Facebook, and many of those people asked Lorna to put her mother’s story into print so that she could inspire others who weren’t lucky enough to know her personally. By the end of the book, I hope that readers will feel like they knew Wanda and that many will take comfort and inspiration from her life and death. Review "A breathtakingly beautiful journey through joy, grief, adventure, and profound loss. Wanda leaves her legacy of honesty, bravery, discovery, and love within the pages of this book. Her daughter has constructed Wanda's final message in sweeping stories that will inspire readers to embrace all of life, including its inevitable ending chapters, with grace, wide-eyed curiosity, belly-laughs, and heartfelt gratitude. You will feel a mother's love, to the moon and back." -Jennifer Vaughn, Emmy-nominated, award-winning TV News Anchor, and author, Last Flight Out, and Throw Away Girls."The Buoy Projects" is about death, but only in a small, transitory way. It is mostly the story about life, of living, of a remarkable woman whose diminutive size, nor her disease, could contain the boundless spirit within her. The story is told in a straightforward yet compelling way, clear and concise, imbued with memories we can all recognize and share. It is the story of a quintessential Italian mother and grandmother whose lasting spirit embodies the expression, "You never know how strong you are until strength is your only option." In death there is life, and "The Buoy Projects" embraces every loving bit of it. Paul Kandarian, The Boston Globe"Lorna Brunelle takes us on a awe-inspiring personal journey that goes to the marrow of learning to live fully while dying. In our culture of hyperbole, we are told weekly about books that will "change our lives," but The Buoy Projects teaches us all to live life beyond our wildest imagination. This book shows us how to weave grief into our lives with joy, and find comfort in the most unexpected places. It is sprinkled with humor, family, and unconditional love. Brunelle's exquisite story of unimaginable loss and unforgettable love will leave you changed forever." -Maureen Hancock bestselling author of The Medium Next DoorThis book is so very inspiring, highly creative and a must read for everyone.
