This release is a groovin' set of roots style reggae that represents the heavy mix of musical currents that make up the band. Reggae, Jazz, Latin, Blues, and Rock influences seep through everywhere as you listen to this CD. THE ELEMENTS have also managed to slip in some of the native Louisiana "Second Line" feel into their reggae beat with a groove called "Eyes". "Don't Worry Now" will certainly keep the reggae groove IN and the "worry" OUT. From the Label "Roots, Rock, Reggae" isn't just a concept to these Baton Rouge natives, it's a Credo. It's in their logo, even right under their name. And it's a good thing that they stop there, because if all the styles in their sound were listed, the logo would take up most of a CD booklet, not just the back panel. They're quite adept at infusing songs like "Moon Beam" and "Soul Jah" with jazz inflection, and there's a pop thread running through all their work that marks them as heir apparent to groups like Third World. And how many straight reggae groups would incorporate "Taps" into a traditional sound ("Soul Jah")? Make no mistake, though; the best of their work here is the pure righteous stuff, especially the bookends "Don't Worry Now" and "Out in The Night".
