Wireless technology eliminates the problem of tangled cables, so Carrera drivers enjoy a more convenient and realistic driving experience. The Wireless 2.0 system’s 2.4-GHz radio technology guarantees interruption-free action at ranges of up to 15 meters, as well as a stable connection for unrestricted freedom of movement around the racetrack. The Wireless 2.0 system replaces the previous version wireless contoller's sensitive lithium batteries with standard (or rechargeable) AAA 1.5-V batteries(sold separately). There’s also a particularly advantageous, cost effective upgrade option to the new Wireless 2.0 system for Carrera DIGITAL 124/132 racetracks with wired hand controllers. This means there are no obstacles to exciting race action with friends and family – and no more tangled cables! Information on the compatibility of Carrera Wireless 2.0 with the previous 2.4-GHz Wireless+ system: Wireless 2.0 hand-held controllers can only be operated with a Wireless 2.0 receiver. The previous Wireless+ hand-held controllers only work with Wireless+ receivers. Nevertheless, parallel operation is possible if both a Wireless 2.0 receiver 20010122 and a Wireless+ receiver 20010112 are connected to the Carrera Digital Control Unit. However, the addresses of the vehicles must not be assigned twice.
