Zatarain's Shrimp Fri is a classic New Orleans-style mix of cornmeal, corn flour and spices like red pepper, garlic, onion and paprika. A hint of lemon juice adds just the right amount of acidity for the crispiest, most unforgettable seasoned shrimp fry you'll ever have. This seafood breading mix comes in a 25-pound box, giving you plenty of product to make several large batches of fried shrimp. Zatarain's Shrimp Fri can keep up with even the busiest restaurants' demands and deliver a crispy, consistent taste to every consumer. There's no shortage of fresh recipes to come up with when you have Zatarain's with you. Create shrimp tacos with a cabbage slaw that will bring out the lemon notes, enjoy skinny shrimp po'boys or embrace a Southern classic with some fried green tomatoes. You can also use the seafood breading mix in bayou fried shrimp with Creole pilaf or the classic french fry and popcorn shrimp baskets. To coat your shrimp, seafood or other food, you'll need 1 cup of Zatarain's Shrimp Fri for each pound of food. Follow these instructions to make 1 pound of fried seafood. Take 1/2 a cup of seafood breading mix and combine it with 1/2 a cup of water to create a batter, and put another 1/2 cup of the mixture on a plate or in a plastic bag. First, dip the shrimp in the batter, then shake off the excess and roll or shake them in the dry mix. Once complete, discard any leftover batter and dry mix. If you want to get a thicker coating, dip the shrimp in a bowl with 1/2 a cup of milk and a lightly beaten egg instead of the batter. Then, cover the shrimp in the dry mix.
