WECO offers a variety of granulated activated carbons made from high quality bituminous coal and select grade coconut shells. It is manufactured through high temperature steam activation under stringent quality control and acid washed with hydro-chloric acid. It has a large surface area, high mechanical hardness, chemical stability and high pore volume. Our coal based carbon is used in ultra-pure water for the removal of organic contaminants, odors, tastes, color, and turbidity. Our coconut shell granular activated carbon is designed for water purification including cartridge manufacturing for potable water, beverage water, kidney dialysis, and hemodialysis. All of our carbon meets the standards of Food Chemical Codes for Activated Carbon and is NSF 61 certified.
