About Vivaldi: Contest Harmony & Invention
This two-disc set of Vivaldis concertos includes his Concertos 5-12, alongside his most famous composition, Le Quattro stagioni (The Four Seasons). LArte dellArco offers us a new interpretation of the piece by removing the excessive ornamentation that has been added over the course of the 20th century, and providing us with a stripped down version that reveals the underlying structure of the piece. The ensemble uses one player per part, and uses original instruments. The ensemble understand the secret language of Vivaldi (Diapason).
