We created this historical replica to be identical to the bearded battle axe used by the famous Ragnar Lothbrok in his ascent from farmer, to earl, to king. The blade is made of high carbon steel which makes it strong and durable. The shaft is made of hard rosewood and is tightly wrapped with leather straps to add a strong grip. This Viking axe is sharp and battle ready. However, we do not recommend using it for everyday wood cutting and log splitting. Using it to cut branches while hiking or camping is perfectly fine. Details: 22" rosewood shaft 6" high carbon steel blade 56-58 Rockwell hardness Weight: 2.2 lbs.
