About Unisource TSC Gray PTFE Chemical Hose

This Unisource TSC PTFE chemical hose assembly is suitable for chemical or gas transfer operations. It is constructed with a nonconductive smooth-bore PTFE (polytetrafluorethylene) tube for resistance to chemicals and high temperatures, and a cover reinforced with a single braid of 300 series stainless steel to provide the strength for its maximum pressure rating. This hose exceeds Compressed Gas Association (CGA) Standard E.9 for flexible, PTFE-lined pigtail hoses for compressed gas service, and has a minimum burst pressure rating four times that of its maximum working pressure rating, also known as a 4:1 safety factor. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -65 to +450 degrees F, and comes equipped with two factory-installed stainless steel male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded fittings. This hose assembly is suitable for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications, including automotive, gas conveyance, food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical transfer, or other applications where the chemical and heat requirements exceed the protections offered by rubber, metal, or plastic hose.Industrial hoses transfer or convey air or liquid in hose systems. When selecting industrial hoses, use the STAMPED method: S = Size (ID, OD, and length) T = Temperature (maximum and minimum temperatures of material being transported) A = Application (industry or process) M = Material (to be conveyed, type and concentration) P = Pressure (maximum working pressure) E = Ends (type of end connectors or couplings on hose) D = Delivery method (volume and velocity)The inside diameter of the hose must be adequate to keep pressure loss to a minimum and avoid damage to the hose due to heat generation or excessive turbulence. The hose must be capable of withstanding the minimum and maximum temperatures that occur within the hose system. Some applications require specialized oils or chemicals to be conveyed through the system. In this case, hose selection must ensure compatibility of the hose tube, cover, couplings and O-rings with the fluid used. Industrial hoses are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.Unisource manufactures industrial, hydraulic, and sanitary hoses as well as expansion joints and braided connectors. The company, founded in 1980, is headquartered in Portland, OR.
