About the Author Chelsea Liebowitz grew up in Farmington Hills, MI, where she endured her fair share of chronic illness. Despite constantly feeling ill, she was determined to graduate from the University of Michigan, and so she did, three times. She received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience prior to heading to the College of Pharmacy. She then took a year out of pharmacy school to get a master’s degree in clinical research through the School of Public Health, which focuses on epidemiology and translational research (the goal of which is to quickly get research from bench to bedside to improve health outcomes). After completing her Doctor of Pharmacy, Chelsea took a year off to manage her own chronic health conditions, including a detox from copper. It was in this year she wrote TMJ Is Ruining My Life to help others manage chronic jaw pain and gain a new perspective on pain and pain management.
